Welcome and Notices
You visit the earth and water it,
You greatly enrich it;
The river of God is full of water;
You provide their grain,
For so You have prepared it.

Psalm 65 v9

You crown the year with Your goodness,
And Your paths drip with abundance.
Psalm 65 v11

Let us confess our forgetfulness of the needs of the poor,
and repent of the ways in which we waste the resources of
the world.

Confession
Lord, you give justice to those who are suffering
and bread to those who hunger.
Lord, have mercy.
Lord, have mercy.

Lord, you loose those who are bound
and open the eyes of the blind.
Christ, have mercy.
Christ, have mercy.

Lord, you watch over the stranger in the land
and uphold the orphan and the widow.
Lord, have mercy.

Lord, have mercy.

Absolution
The Almighty and merciful God
Pardon and deliver you from all your sins.
Time for amendment of life
and the grace and strength of the Holy Spirit
Amen

Interview with Lucy about the work of Foodbank

Reading: Luke 6v37-38

“Do not judge, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven. Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.”

Prayers

Generous God,
At this harvest time we thank you
for all the good things you give us.
As we thank you for our food,
we remember all those who do not have enough
for even one proper meal each day.
Lord,
Bless all those who suffer because of the greed of others.
Amen

At this harvest time,
we thank you for the hard work of all those who grow, protect and
prepare our food;
for the shopkeepers,
the transport delivery drivers, the processors and the farmers.
Lord of the harvest
Hear our prayer

Bless all those, Lord, who do not earn a fair day’s pay for their hard work, both at home and in other countries.
Help us to want to buy local produce and fairly traded goods wherever we can so that everyone can work with dignity
and there will be no more poverty.
Lord of the harvest
Hear our prayer. Amen

Lord’s Prayer:
Our father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come; thy will be done; on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.

And lead us not into temptation: but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the Kingdom, the power and the glory, For ever and ever.
Amen.

Blessing
May God our creator,
who clothes the lilies and feeds the birds of the air,
bestow on you his care
and increase the harvest of your righteousness;
and the blessing …
