Hymn: Immortal Invisible God only wise

Welcome and Notices

Psalm 95:1-3 (NKJV)

Oh come, let us sing to the LORD!

Let us shout joyfully to the Rock of our salvation.

Let us come before His presence with thanksgiving;

let us shout joyfully to Him with psalms.

For the Lord is the great God, and the great King above all gods.

The Lord is full of compassion and mercy,

slow to anger and of great kindness.

He has not dealt with us according to our sins,

nor rewarded us according to our wickedness.

For as the heavens are high above the earth,

so great is his mercy upon those who fear him.

Holy God,

holy and strong,

holy and immortal,

have mercy upon us.

As far as the east is from the west,

so far has he set our sins from us.

As a father has compassion on his children,

so is the Lord merciful towards those who fear him.

Bless the Lord, O my soul,

and all that is within me bless his holy name.

Bless the Lord, O my soul,

and forget not all his benefits.

May almighty God have mercy on us, forgive us our sins,

and bring us to everlasting life, through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Reading: Philippians 4:4-7

Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

This is the word of the Lord

Thanks be to God

Talk by Helen

ALMIGHTY God, Father of all mercies, we your unworthy servants do give you most humble and hearty thanks for all your goodness and loving-kindness to us and to all people; We bless you for our creation, preservation, and all the blessings of this life; but above all for your immeasurable love in the redemption of the world by our Lord Jesus Christ, for the means of grace, and for the hope of glory. And we beseech you, give us that due sense of all your mercies, that our hearts may be unfeignedly thankful, and that we shew forth your praise, not only with our lips, but in our lives; by giving up ourselves to your service, and by walking before you in holiness and righteousness all our days; through Jesus Christ our Lord, to whom with you and the Holy Spirit be all honour and glory, world without end. Amen.

Song: My hope is built

Heavenly Father, we give you thanks and praise for all the many benefits that we receive here in Blundellsands: for growth and fellowship in our church; for local amenities such as the beach, the train service, the golf and rugby clubs; for our schools;  and for comfortable homes. Today we pray for all those who do not enjoy such blessings, through ill health, poverty or situation. Be with them Lord, comfort and support them in their trials and help us to be more aware of deprivation and need in our neighbourhood and beyond. We pray in the name of Jesus who had nowhere to lay his head.  Amen

Lord’s Prayer:

Our father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name.

Thy kingdom come; thy will be done; on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.

And lead us not into temptation: but deliver us from evil.

For thine is the Kingdom, the power and the glory,

For ever and ever.

The Peace

God has made us one in Christ.

He has set his seal upon us

and, as a pledge of what is to come,

has given the Spirit to dwell in our hearts. Alleluia.

The peace of the Lord be always with you..

And also with you.

Hymn: Now thank we all our God

The peace of God, which passes all understanding, keep your hearts and minds in the knowledge and love of God, and of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord; and the blessing of God Almighty, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirt, be amongst you, and remain with you always. Amen.
