Welcome and Notices
Words from Psalm 141 v 1- 2 Lord , I cry out to You; Make haste to me! Let my prayer be set before You as incense,
Confession Brothers and sisters, as we prepare to worship, let us call to mind our sins…… In a dark and disfigured world we have not held out the light of life: Lord, have mercy. Lord, have mercy.
In a hungry and despairing world we have failed to share our bread: Christ, have mercy. Christ, have mercy.
In a cold and loveless world we have kept the love of God to ourselves: Lord, have mercy. Lord, have mercy.
Absolution May God who loved the world so much that he sent his Son to be our Saviour forgive us our sins and make us holy to serve him in the world, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
Interview with Joan Hayward
Reading: 2 Corinthians 2:14 – 17 Read by Phil Flynn But thanks be to God, who always leads us as captives in Christ’s triumphal procession and uses us to spread the aroma of the knowledge of him everywhere. 15 For we are to God the pleasing aroma of Christ among those who are being saved and those who are perishing. 16 To the one we are an aroma that brings death; to the other, an aroma that brings life. And who is equal to such a task? 17 Unlike so many, we do not peddle the word of God for profit. On the contrary, in Christ we speak before God with sincerity, as those sent from God. This is the Word of the Lord. Thanks be to God.

Song: Fairest Lord Jesus
Prayers by Gen Flynn Creator God, who made our beautiful world, appointed us as its guardians and gifted us with everything we need, forgive us for the times we cause it harm; for the times our way of life affects our neighbours. Inspire us to care for the environment; to help rebuild lives and communities; to share in the griefs and anxieties, joys and hopes of all your people, so that all your creation may flourish. Amen.
Heavenly Father, thank you that no matter what we may have to face in life, that in Christ we are always led to victory. We pray that as we rest in Him, by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, that we may always be led in triumph to Your praise and glory. May our lives be a living sacrifice - a burnt offering that becomes a sweet-smelling perfume - of the knowledge of Him, in every place you may choose to send us. We pray this in Jesus name and for His glory, Amen.
Collect Eternal Lord, our beginning and our end: bring us with the whole creation to your glory, hidden through past ages and made known in Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
We say together the Lord’s Prayer: Our father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come; thy will be done; on earth as it is in heaven.
