Week Commencing 4th February: Please pray for the residents of Berkeley Road and for young people who live there, that childhood will be a positive and loving experience; for those who attend local schools including St Michael’s, that they will not only grow in knowledge but in wisdom and love of God too; for those who serve our community, such as road sweepers, refuse collectors, community police officers and postmen, giving thanks for their work.

Verse for the week: then the Lord God formed man from the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and the man became a living being. And the Lord God planted a garden in Eden, in the east; and there he put the man whom he had formed. Out of the ground the Lord God made to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight and good for food, the tree of life also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. Gen. 2 v 7-9

Prayer for the week: Lord, you breathed life into man and formed him in your own image, so that he might live life to the full in his mind, body and soul:  may this act of creation inspire us to reach out and provide for others, especially those in need of physical, mental or spiritual nourishment. Amen.
