Post:    15 hrs per week (p/t) based in the parish.  A 2 year fixed term contract (possible option of extension depending on funding) with 6 month probationary period.

Candidate: We are looking for a person who will establish, develop, nurture and grow new Christian Communities aimed at older persons in the Parish (recently retired and the elderly).

Location: Parish of St Michael Blundellsands

Hours: 15 hours per week- to be worked over 5 flexible days, 3 hours per day

Purpose: to develop, establish, nurture and grow new Christian Communities

aimed at older persons in the Parish of St Michael Blundellsands


  1. To develop a mission plan for work with new Christian communities aimed at older persons and in line with the overall vision for St Michael’s Church
  2. To create and develop two new Christian Communities targeting older persons
  3. To contribute to and grow the existing provision- Heavenly Food and WOW- worship on Wednesday
  4. To develop and grow teams for the Christian Communities 
  5. To work closely with the Ministry Team and Standing Committee

Person Specification

  1. Evidence of being an active committed Christian, sympathetic to the Church of England¸ and  with a sense of calling to mission
  2. Evidence of previous experience of creating and developing new programmes/communities
  3. Evidence of working in non-traditional ways
  4. Evidence of the ability to create, develop and lead teams of (mainly) volunteers
  5. Lively faith and ability to share faith with others
  6. Organisation skills including IT, administration skills, planning?
  7. Knowledge of safeguarding and ability to work confidentially
